Poetry Time!
We've been reading and writing lots of poetry lately. Seeing the world with creative eyes, deep feeling, and bending the rules...sounds like a 2nd grader. It's been a blast!
Seed Science and Growing Things!
Things are germinating in 2nd grade! The Dragons have been sprouting, planting, and even dissecting seeds as we talk about germination and the plant cycle.
Searching for the embryo in a seed is very engaging!
The Dragons helped find the little radish seeds in these pods from my garden. We sprouted the seeds!
Chia seed sprouting experiment!
Decorating egg shells that will become planters for wheat grass.
Eating our lentil sprouts! Most of the kiddos loved them. They begged for more and so we'll feast on a new batch this week!
We Love Our 8th Grade Reading Buddies!
Sometimes it's just better to read with a buddy. Every Monday afternoon, the awesome 8th graders come to our classroom for reading time.
