Geology Rocks in 2nd Grade!

The study of our planet Earth is volcanically awesome.   

The 2nd graders made and epic amount of play dough in preparation for making 3D modelsnof the Earth and it's inner layers.

Making play dough took measuring, teamwork, and division... and it was so fun!

The kiddos eagerly drew diagrams of Earth's layers in preparation for making 3D models...

After finishing a Magic School Bus chapter book about volcanoes and learning about the layers of the Earth,  the next logical step was... making volcanoes!

Adventures in 2nd Grade!

Visiting the Arte de Descartes exhibit at The Stables Gallery gave the kiddos more inspiration to see trash as a resource.  

I couldn't resist taking a group photo on picture day.

Perhaps you heard about the Dragon Store on Thursday?  We open the store every 2 weeks.  The students visit the bank to collect nickels they've earned for homework and good behavior.  The store was a big hit!

Thursday stilt club was a success!
